After a few recent drives of the bimmer and deciding its a bit too fast, I’ve been looking into ND mx5s. Went and drove one and the price is pretty good. 22k with Works wheels, Whiteline stage 1 kit.

Would sell off the daily accord. Would be around 10-12k to swap them over.Wife has a Cx5 and I don’t think we need two sensible cars.

Addit: so I would still keep the 135i, wife would have cx5.

Sweet euro spec accord. Very pretty. When isn't MX-5 time?

I’m slightly biased, but the ND is the best car I’ve ever driven.

Speaking from a convertible as only car for 9 years person, I’d say do it only if you have another car.

But yeah, the ND (only driven it once, but it was auto, but the drive was on a track): can’t go wrong.

Will you get enough for the Accord to make it worth it? A spare car is a great thing to have. On the down side, they get you with the insurance and tags.

The insurance bit is such bullshit . If I have two cars and I drive 20,000 miles a year between them, it shouldn’t incur any more liability for the insurance company than if I drive one car 20,000 miles a year, except a minimal additional accounting cost. But all the companies where I asked for quotes demanded twice as much to insure a spare car.

I am biased but DO IT!

Aalso what’s up with those body colot taillights? I’ve seen the covers for the lights/reflectors around the wheel arches but not those taillight covers (?)

EDIT nevermind I found a pic of tho covers. The back l ooks more Italian this way. Not bad

I would keep both the 135i and the mx5. I’m at a point where I don’t want a boring daily since I drive it alone 99% of the time.

I think you’re pretty set for now.

I’ve been driving the i3 for almost 3 years, and I still miss starting up the E60 at night, the gauges waking up and the rumble in the most perfect seat, there’s just no more boss feeling than that car, both the V8 and the tt6.

I love the electric whoosh of the i3, too. I wouldn’t buy another not-electric car unless it’s an old 911, at this point.

Yeh i wasn't a fan originally but they are growing on me. Can always remove then, they are pretty expensive for what they are

The gearshift and the front view with the fenders on each side are awesome

I have a 2011 Acura TSX sport wagon (accord there like yours), I have a question. There is supposed to be a rear hatch area cover in my car but I don’t have one, they charge $400 or something for one here, I was wondering what they charge for a Honda one there and what they call these? I have searched Ebay Oz and I can’t see anything.

That clip in rear cargo area cover there>>>

If the finances work for you, do it 100%. I’ve had a convertible as an only car for 7 years and as a DD for an additional 4. As a second car there’s just no reason not to. The only time it doesn’t work is when we need to take the dog somewhere and I want to drive something more exciting than the husband’s Volvo, but that’s what my new Every is for. My ND is a blast and for now it’s also my most practical car while the E very is getting new wheel bearings , and it’s working out shockingly well. I’m not even disappointed “ downgrading” to the ND from a turbocharged NA with coilovers and away bars. The ND is just that good.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but the 135i is the most boring waste of horsepower I’ve ever owned. It under steered a lot despite being rwd, the engine had the character of an electric motor, and of course BMW’s infamous clutch delay valve made burnout and quick shifts difficult . The Mazda Miata on the other hand is a blast to drive at any speed limit.

It’s not a bad deal but I recommend holding out for the 2019+ ND2 with the power bump unless you don’t mind being down by about 26 hp (without a tune).
